1. Case Introduction
Female, 18 years old. Main reason for consultation: Crossbite.
Keywords: crossbite / invisible orthodontic treatment
List of problems
• Mild crowding in the upper dentition and 1 mm of space in the lower dentition.
• Anterior crossbite.
• Labial inclination of the upper and lower anterior teeth.
• Complete Class III molar relationship on the right side, Class III molar relationship and slightly mesial on the left side.
• Congenital absence of a mandibular central incisor.
Orthodontic treatment plan
• Extract the mandibular wisdom teeth and perform an intermaxillary rehabilitation (IPR) to align the teeth and correct the crossbite.
• Use TAD to facilitate the intermaxillary elastic during treatment.
• Maintain occlusion after a fine occlusal adjustment.
Angle classification:
Angle Class III
Aim
• Correction of anterior crossbite, alignment and leveling of the upper and lower dentition.
• Adjustment of molar relationship and torque of upper and lower anterior teeth.
Stages of orthodontic treatment and total treatment time
Maxilla: 23 sets
Jaw: 15 games
Total treatment time: 12 months
Intraoral evaluation after treatment
The maxillary and mandibular dentitions were aligned, the crossbite was corrected, and the anterior horizontal and vertical overbite were significantly reduced. A Class I molar relationship was observed on the left side and a Class III relationship on the right side, with a close occlusion.
